ARTIST NUMBA NINETEEN: Katherine Hardy

Katherine Hardy describes her art as "weaving a narrative together using texture and color". She is a freelance artist and illustrator from the UK and receiver her training from the Royal College of Art in London. She currently works at The Art Newspaper and is pioneering her own children's book about a girl and her imaginary friend. Hardy has a beautiful poster/silhouette style that captures the wholeness of the subjects she is portraying. She uses simple shapes and color to create imaginative scenes and bright, eye catching designs. Many of her pieces have a vintage feel to them, and harken back to the simple style of screen printing (although she uses digital imaging).
